Hey Dom: I just got my i730 out (just gathering dust for now) and looked at my SD card. It's a 4G AData SD card (i.e., NOT an HC card). The SD card does say 'Turbo' on it (which refers to the transfer speed - 150x).

So to my question: Are you sure you are using an AData 4G SD 'HC' card? Just asking.

The i730 seems, to me, a little early to have a native HC capacity in it. Now, assuming you are, in fact, using a 4G Adata SD HC card, maybe, even though it says SD HC (assuming your does), I wonder if your card actually runs in SD non-HC mode when it recognizes there's no hardware / firmware support for HC mode. Although I don't even know if having HC available requires hardware, firmware, or 'simply' driver (software) support to run. I don't remember anyone definitively stating what is really needed.
