it's okay hoe, nobody here is going to ban him. Even you must admit that his note is suspicious, at best. "Hey, I was just walking around and found this phone, and now it wont leave me alone. It keeps asking me to enter a number. Gosh, I'd like to move on with my life, but this phone wont leave me alone."

I don't think the guy is lying, but I don't think all of his cards are on the table either. If he honestly found it, he should return it to ATT. If he bought it in bulk shipment, then he didn't "just find it".

If he is selling hot phones, they'll catch up with him on the buy and sell fourms. I don't think it's our job to ban someone on suspicions. He is free to ask the question he asked as is the person(s) who suggest that he is less than forthright...as is your suggestion to cut him some slack.
