After months of waiting for a new phone, I also decided to give the SMT5800 a try.

One question, when I bought it online, I was forced to select the Unlimited Data Plan in order to order the phone. However, the text at the top said that I could select a data plan for $0, but that wasn't a choice.

So, can I cancel the data plan later? -- they gave me $100 ADD credit for signing up for the data plan, and I'm fine to keep it for 2 months, but don't want to be stuck with it for 2 years necessarily.
