I am going to pick up a XV 6800 later today. Helix139, could you please confirm the above steps are correct. I tried to put all the steps for Bluetooth and USB DUN together.
Helix139, do you have any idea why the EDR portion of the Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR doesn’t work on the XV6800. It doesn’t surprise me that Verizon screwed that up too. That is why I wanted the XV6800 over my XV6700. I wanted the BT DUN to be no different than a Verizon KPC680 ExpressCard in terms of speed. Is there any workaround to this problem?
Thanks Helix139 for sharing your knowledge.
ExpressCard Pros: Fast, inexpensive, less prone to crashing connection.
ExpressCard Cons: $1440.00 over 2 year contract, sticks out of computer, voice incapable, Bright blue light always on (KPC680), have to remove to place laptop in case, fragile.
XV6800 Pros: $1080.00 over 2 year contract (with option of canceling data plan), Voice capable, always carry with you, Wireless tether w/ BT, PDA features.
XV6800 Cons: Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR doesn’t work as advertised resulting in slow BT Connection, prone to crashing.
