I would agree with this. Working in the "mobile" sector I rarely see "Joe public" using Treo's and most of the users tend to be business users. BlackBerry are taking an increasingly large bite out of the co-operate market (and for good reason) and if you compare a typical Windows Mobile device to a Palm based device they are often a lot better (at least on the surface).

The main problem seems to be that people that use Smartphones/Pocket PC's do so because they need something more form it then just phone/text/email. The Palm OS is very badly under developed for (when compare to Windows Mobile), for a good example of this just take a look at the free GPS apps available for Windows Mobile and BlackBerry and compare that to what is available for OS5 devices.

Basically they are left with good devices that are out competed on two fronts. For applications and office integration they get beat by Windows Mobile devices and for ease of use email and corporate users they get beat by BlackBerry. There is nothing the Palm can do better then either of these (again at least from first glance, when you get into it you find that most WM devices are bugged to hell but that is a different issue).

It is definitely a smart move on Palms part to dump their OS and move to WM.
