The "advanced" button lets you set specific times when the peak/off-peak applies. Those can be combined with weekend minutes or seperate. Each can have a bucket or be unlimited.

Since the program uses the built-in call logs, you can install it any time without affecting accuracy. It doesn't track time; your phone already does that. What it does is analyze those call logs for you. One thing is you'd want to set your call logs to retain the data for at least a month or more. I have mine set to 6 months and the log size is not an issue.

Yes, you can set multiple alerts for specific usage percentages. There are red and yellow alerts (default to 90 and 75% of plan minutes) and a periodic alert set to remind you at each 25% increment. You can change any of their settings.
