Yesterday, I decided to take the plunge, and spent about 30 minutes reading through everything. I had skipped the Sprint customizations at hard reset, so I downloaded the Sprint para file, along with the "coarse" and "fine" files. I was able to find the HTC para file, using Total Commander, so I made an executive decision to go directly to replacing it with the "coarse" file, without the interim step of putting the Sprint para file on the device. Here's the steps I used . . . downloaded the files to my laptop, edited the name of the file, copied and pasted it to my device storage card via activsync, disconnect a/s, copy and paste over the HTC para file using Total Commander, soft reset. The result was unbelievable, although at higher volumes there was distortion. I ultimately, settled on the "fine" version, set at the third notch. Now my ear volume and speaker phone volume are just right, with plenty of room to adjust up or down. Thank you, so much for all the work.
