On the download, that is correct.
The other benefits is increased speed on the uploads (near symmetric to the download)and support for QoS (quality of service tagging on the packets), which means the device could support voice over IP and similar packet based applications that are time sensitive. Implementing VoIP means you could do simultaneous voice and data transfers.
