Well, I don't work for Verizon and I don't even own their stocks, but I agree with the previous poster that it may not be all Verizon's fault.
I used to be with AT&T Wireless for many many years. A couple years ago, I was waiting for the GSM version of the HTC Apache to be released by ATTWS. As you all know, ATTWS was postponing the release for many months. If you would search the discussion thread of that release on this forum and on HoFo, you will find the exact same angers and dis-satisfaction expressed by the posters back then. Everybody was up-in-arms and everybody was cursing ATTWS. So VzW is not the only one who will do such thing.
In my humble opinion, all these carriers, whether it is AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, or T-Mo, they are in business to make money. If there is a product that people will buy, they will sell it for sure. They don't hold things back just for the fun of it. There must be a good reason for any hold back.
When I was with AT&T Wireless, their Customer Services were excellent. But Cingular has poor services. Now that they are one, this should bring them to .500. I had never dealt with Verizon before I purchased the XV6700. But their Customer Services are exceptional....even surpass what ATTWS used to be.
As of the network coverage, I had horrible coverage when I was with ATTWS. Later when they became Cingular, I had only switched my primary PDA phone over to VzW, but my secondary phone was still with Cingular. Again, the coverage was very poor. I couldn't get good signal both at home and at work (and I live in a major metropolitan area). I don't expect the coverage will change much now that they are back as Ma Bell. On the other hand, VzW has excellent network coverage everywhere I go. Last summer when our scouts were camping at the wilderness, I was shocked that my VzW phone and my VzW aircard were working just fine.
