GPS Pairing
Some concepts that will help those of U having trouble
connecting to the BT GPS:
1) WM6 has a cool feature found in Settings>System>External GPS
It’s similar to Franson GPSgate in concept; a GPS server. U should
be able to run several GPS apps all at once—in theory.
2) First problem is: Some applications don’t play well with it;
3) Second problem is: “External GPS” captures the GPS and other apps
then appear to not be able to connect to the GPS.
4) So disabling “External GPS” is a solution We do this by selecting:
External GPS>Programs> GPS Program Port (none) and
External GPS>Hardware> GPS HW port (none).
5) Then because the GPS setup may be hosed, we re-pair the GPS with
com port 0 by: COMM Settings> BT>Settings> hold down
the GPS line & delete; If it won’t delete, try a soft reset first;
then Add New Device, locate the GPS, turn security off, and
assign it to COM port 0.
That should allow apps to connect to the GPS on port 0 one at a time
just like they always did in earlier WM versions.
