I have 4.0 but havent used it yet, but I do use IG 3.0
In IG 3.0 it's really nice if space concerns you, because you use "maploader" from your pc. It lets you make and load a custom map from your PC, you can choose whatever states you want or you can make a city map with whatever radius around the city you want.
The single states are around 30 -70 megs it seems, and you can put as many in as you want. So with that storage is no problem.
The current Tomtom US and Canada is around 900 and comes as one, but I thought I saw a smaller file floating around.
IG 3.0 has more options and tweaks than TT it seems, but TT has better voices way better looking 3D map and seems easier, but both are great I switch back and forth all the time. These are just my opinions, everybody has there reasons for what they like best.
So if space is an issue definetly get IG 3.0, but this is going OT, probably best to star a GPS Software thread if you have more questions.
