Sprint is better than AT&T or T-Mobile, but still weaker than Verizon in my area. You end up roaming onto Verizon's towers if you get too far out of the corridor. I just can't quite convice myself that Sprint is enough of an improvement over big V to make the switch - it's still power-hungry CDMA, and they're not much better about getting new phones. Although now that I'll be paying the bill myself, that $30 SERO plan that people have been talking about sure does look attactive; I could pocket the other $50 as a "mini-raise."
