Actually, simultaneous voice/data is theoretically possible with EvDO Rev 0, but neither Sprint nor VZW chose to implement it. We keep hearing buzz that the carriers will enable it in Rev A, but the networks have made no commitments.

In Sprint's case, only the Mogul seems to support Rev A (with a future firmware upgrade).

In VZW's case, no handsets yet support Rev A.

For the time being, Rev A seems to be a parade for aircards only. The reasons are obvious.

As to the SGH-i760, no US carrier will pick up this device as it does not handle 850MHz (the better of the two domestic GSM frequencies).

As nice a footprint/feature set as it has, it's just not a prudent choice for most US GSM subscribers.
