As for AT&T coverage, I have both VZW and AT&T. The differences between the two are quickly blurring. While VZW still has the advantage in most place I go, I am finding that AT&T is catching up and even surpasing them in high speed in many places. It looks like AT&T may even surpass VZW within 18 - 24 months. Because AT&T phones work globally, when VZW's advantage is no longer obvious, I will say goodbye to them.
