Just take the discussions to other threads, it's as simple as that. That is why we have multiple threads in a forum, and why we have multiple forums. If you want to discuss the i760 vs. Kaiser, then go to that thread and discuss it. If you want to discuss leaving Verizon, then make a new thread in the lounge and post in it. Discussions can happen, just either make a new thread about them, or discuss it in the appropriate place. We aren't saying to stop discussion about this stuff, just not to do it in this thread.

Is it possible to make a Sticky inside of a Thread? My idea is that a sticky inside of a thread might allow some of these naturally occurring OT discussions to still be heard by putting links to common discussions (eg. leaving VZW for iphone, i760 vs. Kaiser, and some of the other common routes we keep running) that don't fit the i760 release thread. I've enjoyed a lot of the discussion that has been OT, and I'd hate to lose it. I've noticed that I've gotten used to just coming to this thread when I'm looking for general conversations, just because so much is happening here. I've also been frustrated a couple times when I've come to the thread specifically looking for new information about the i760. If some sort of "Sticky Reminder" was at the top of the thread page, then we might be able to improve the health of this thread and improve the discussion that is happening in some of the other applicable threads as well. I think we all want to contribute, and sometimes we get so used to refreshing our screen and living in this thread (and of course we want our voice to be heard too, so we talk in the place that everybody is looking) that we forget to make an extra click or two and put our information in a better place. I'm not sure what the limits of forum design and thread construction are, but it seemed like a good idea.

Like I said earlier, I just meant this as a suggestion for the moderators to see, so feel free to delete it once you've seen it.

cheers
