The Blackberry 8830 is a great phone... but do NOT get it from Verizon Wireless. I repeat, avoid VZW!
The BB8830 is packed with features...like tethered modem capabilities, built-in GPS, and more. Verizon has disabled these. Particularly galling is disabling the GPS, since the built-in receiver doesn't even need to rely on the Verizon Network. They expect you to buy a $50 "puck" to carry in your pocket next to the phone, rather than use the built in GPS. This is just a sign of Verizon's way of doing business--disabling features YOU ALREADY PAID FOR.
Sprint now carries the phone. Not only do they have a faster data network, but they've refrained from hobbling the built-in features you paid for. If you want the 8830, go with them.
