I just did a little test in direct sunlight. I was able to use it, but its not very bright outdoors in the sun. Side by side, its almost exactly the same in viewing as the PPC6600, if that tells you anything. This is interesting because the 6800 is a lot brighter indoors. I was able to read my appointments and navigate to contacts and place a call, but you definitely wouldn't want to to anymore than you had to outdoors.
