Except that aGPS has the capability to use the same GPS satellites as "standalone" and at the same accuracy. I'd also take that "city-block" accuracy with a grain of salt, too - in NYC the VZW Navigator software is quite useable for point-to-point directions where my standalone GPS can't see enough satellites to get any kind of a location fix.
