I'm blown away that nobody has posted about it yet, but what do you guys think about this ruling that bans the import of newly manufactured devices with a Qualcomm chipset?
I know that the CPU used in the i760 is made by Samsung, but I guess the radio itself is something that Qualcomm manufactures? Also, if the i760 did fall under this ban, wouldn't it benefit VZW (and Sprint with their 6800) to "release" the i760 for sale so that it is grandfathered in? Since we've speculated some that these guys are already sitting in a warehouse somewhere, waiting to be shipped at the end of the month, why not announce them for sale as of today with some backordering in order to preserve the ability to sell these as long as the ban is upheld?
Talk about hoping against hope, but that seems better than the alternative of this thing getting pushed back indefinitely.
