I think the whole iPhone theory is wrong. What Verizon looks for is market share. When Treos/PocketsPCs/BlackBerrys are marketed, they are marketed toward corporate users buying 100s, 1000s, or in the case of BlackBerrys 10,000s. Corporations are not going to be turned by iPhones. This is strictly geared toward consumers and no one else. True, in numbers, customers do dictate (look at the iPod). However, who is the target for this sector? High School Kids and College Kids living off Mommy & Daddy's Family Plan. I doubt their parents' corporations are going to switch to another vendor (AT&T) because of iPhones.

Hate to break it to this group, but we are an exceptional group. This group is a bunch of technical folks squeezing every capability out of i730. Every see the ordinary user using a Treo? They are lucky if they can play an MP3. My point is, we are not a target group for Verizon. We are lucky if we are 2,000 in number total. One big corporation can blow that number out of the water. iPhone just don't appeal to those large corporations. Email, Internet, and most most most importantly Security appeal to corporations.
