Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread.

First of all the sound quality is so much better than the Microsoft stack for playing music via my JVC KD-BT1 Bluetooth Car stereo. It sounds nearly as good as a wired connection from my iPod. I'm able to stream audio with no skipping or high pitch squealing. I can play DRM protected Napster-to-Go files through WMP and use the car stereo controls pause and skip to the next track.

After doing all of the registry changes from page 1 of this thread, I get no skipping and EV-DO remains active. I can even check email and browse the web in the background without making the music skip.

There are a couple of minor bugs. I am running Colonel's 3.5 Final AKU, and there seems to be a bit of a memory problem when I start the Widcomm Bluetooth stack. I have to either shut down all programs and radios before I start the stack or use the memory utility (included in the Colonel's AKU) to clear out some memory before running the stack. Otherwise, I get an "out of device memory" error. Once it's running, I can turn everything back on, and do everything else, including run my Tom Tom GPS.

Also, once the stack is running...all audio is piped through the high quality stereo output, and I cannot use the hands-free function on the car stereo. The car stereo only recognizes the phone as a Bluetooth audio device, even when the phone is activated.

Luckily, I can shutdown the Widcomm stack and switch back to the Microsoft stack for making calls (or when using another device for my audio player - an iPod via USB). But going back and forth is a bit of a hassle. Having the option to use Bluetooth audio through this phone allows me to make the most of my Napster to go Account.....so that's worth it.

Has there been any fixes to either the Widcomm or MS Stack to make them more bug free on the PPC-6700? I tried just about every registry hack for the Microsoft Stack, but still get the high pitch squealing. If there as a fix to the Widcomm stack to make the phone use the hands free profile instead of the high quality bluetooth audio profile, I'd love to know about it.
