Yes, I agree with you there but without the feature I am talking asking for, the counter seems to be useless.

It would be useless of I send a sms which is 400 letters long but it is counted as only 1 sms where it should have counted as 3.

Same goes to mms. What if my mms is 100kb? (my provider charges me by 50kb). Instead of 2 mms, it would have counted as 1.
