From the FCC Equipment Authorization search:
"There are no applications on file that match the search criteria specified:
Grantee Code: A3L; Product Code: SGHI760"
This suggests that the SGH-i760 wasn't submitted to the FCC; and it need not have been, as Samsung won't be selling it here.
This "Popular Electronics" dude is apparently an importer. Awkward choice of business name, as he risks being shut down for trademark infringement.
Still, you're right. Sammy should have given us that device--not necessarily instead of the SCH model, but in addition. If it had 850MHz, it would be compelling for Cing/AT&T. Our best advice now: Let it go...
