You're quite correct that their info is suspect because of the glaring error re: the stylus remark and their smartphone vs. pocketPC identification. But remember that initially, almost no one (including the people manning the Samsung booth at CES!) knew that there was a stylus, even though it was there all along (you can see the stylus' head in even the earliest photos). And also note also that they still list the carrier as 'unknown'.

But this is the same info they've had on the site for several months, except that I think that they may have updated their release date estimate. It does make you wonder how assiduously they work to keep their info current, doesn't it?
