I've had both phones...

I can honestly say that I am liking the Q a lot better than the 6700. First off, it picks up a signal WAY better than the 6700, and it has a better phone to boot. I hated the way the phone keypad was touchscreen on the 6700. Anytime you wanted to enter information while calling, it went into a submenu of contacts, etc; very frustrating.

I thought I would miss the touchscreen, but honestly, it hasn't bothered me one bit due to the D-pad and the thumbwheel. That may be a bigger deal for some folks, but the stylus was always dropping out of the 6700, so I was using the stick to select anyway. I can get to anything on the Q that I did on the 6700, and sometimes: faster.

Form factor: wow, this is where the big difference was for me. I can use both hands, or just one to text, call, etc. I couldn't do that with the 6700 at all. Slimmer? signinficantly in this case. The Q goes in a pocket, while the 6700 had a permamently on-duty holster.

Things I view on the Q actually look better than they did on the 6700. Finally, I have the Alltel-grey verzion with the rubberish coating on it so it hasn't scratched yet, despite being dropped on cement. The 6700 carried battle-scars from just bumping into things, and the plastic was not colored through and through; it looked very ugly just a while after purchase. That to me, is a true shame for a device that expensive.

Now, both share drawbacks; picture messaging should be an ENHANCED version on both of these, instead of DISABLED. Battery life could be better for both machines. The extended battery on the Q really isn't that much of an extension, I guess due to size.

Reagardless, the Q wins; hands down...
