I didn't think about the device being open. I guess what you are saying is that the Dpad and the Soft Buttons are dual use (keypad and QWERTY pad).

Don't forget about the i700 of a few years back. That too proved itself. I do like Samsung products as a whole, and the CEO's attitude is, "If you build it (right), they will come." They are now #2 behind Sony.
So when do we get the i760 group going instead of this i730/i830/i830w thread? It is only a matter of time, and I remember that ol' thread when the i730 was suppose to come out December 2004, and it didn't show up until June 2005. The thread began then.
