You should take back your Cardo Scala-500 for a new one. I have been using it for over a year now and I have to tell you, it's the 7th bt ear piece I have tried and it's the best. I can walk about 30 feet away from my phone and it's extremely clear, and I even have times where I loose my phone in my loft somewhere while I'm still talking on the earpiece. The quality and range is the BEST I have tried out of the 7 models I have gone through.
