I lodged a support request with HP and must admit I cheated in that I lodged it from work thinking my employers name would give some weight to the request as I work for a rather prestigious IT company (which rivals Hp for size). I got the lame answer that the Ipaq 6365 can't act as a modem. I have requested clarification of why the user guide and the software on the unit it's self implies that it will! I'm not holding my breath.

My laptop does have a modem but I am trying to use the Ipaq to do the job so that I don't have to get to a land line to put that modem to use. Even if I try to set up a work connection as if it is a dial up modem and then try to connect it still comes back with the message that there isn't a modem on that number without even ringing the number (and I have tried using my home number as the destination to see if it actually dials). I must admit I haven't tried entering a user name and password.
I should also say thanks as you seem the only person who has even attempted to help in about a year of trying to get this working.
