Thanks a lot for all of the information. I don't think battery life should be a problem for me, since the GPS' I'm shopping for feature 15 hours of regular use, and many have replacable batteries. Ruggedness i'm not really concerned about since I regularly hiked with my old cell phone with no issues, and I keep the current one cased.
