Ok, it took 6 phone calls (really), three discussions with Wireless Data support and 7 with customer service, but I finally got them to admit that they *do* provide tethering support for $15.99/month if you already have unlimited data. The solution seems to be finding a competent person in DTS, then get them to discuss the issue with customer service for you. Expect to spend quite a bit of time on hold -- I've been on the phone for nearly 30 minutes and I'm not done yet....
What a nightmare! Now I'm starting to remember why I bailed from Verizon after 10+ years. If T-Mobile had decent reception and a PDA phone like the i730 I never would have come back.
