I have a couple of questions that are somewhat related. First, updated my phone with the new ROM yesterday and no problems. I reset the phone before the Verizon customizations loaded. The only thing I had to do is set up the internet connection to dial #777 with my credintials and everything else seems fully functional as far as I can tell. I know I missed out on some new ring tones by aborting the VZ customizations, but I didn't want the other limitations that I know is imposed, plus I don't need wireless sync since I am using Exchange 2003 via Active Sync (works MUCH better!!!). Anyway, I didn't know if anyone knew of specific programs I needed to load on an individual basis by going to the ext_ROM? Which leads me to the second part of my question - I unlocked the ext_ROM using the ext_rom_unlock program where it says "success" (rather than the suggested registry hack) - I could browse and open the location, but I can't remember what it is (/extended_rom) or something like that - I searched the forum for close to an hour with no success. Anyone know what I am talking about? Am I really screwing up something with my phone by not installing the Verizon updates? Lastly, I have used the ##3328873 feature before to enable the BT DUN and wanted to check to see if it was enabled after the ROM upgrade. Whenever I put the number in now and press send it actually dials the number instead of going to the special menu. Do you think this is because I didn't load the Verizon updates? Sorry for all the questions.
