When you receive a call, you can answer it, but all other keys still remain locked until you follow the unlock process.
Seems to work well.
As far as I can see though, there is no way to set it to auto-lock when you turn the device off, so you have to remember to hit the lock applicatoin on the today screen before turning the device off.
