I am stuck at a screen with "serial" written on top, no backlight. I cannot put it into a USB mode even following the steps of the above thread. Mine never updated, it failed to communicate and after that went dead (sort of). All steps have failed so far. It is stuck in a "serial" "version 1.00" screen. If I pull the usb cable half off the xv, then it changes to usb, but it doen't communicate. When I push it all the way in, windows xp says, usb malfuction, can not be recognized. Any suggestions/help please?
