I've had my xv6700 a few months now and reset it tons of time, but am still not clear on a hard reset vs. a soft reset. When I stick the pen in the hole in the bottom (no comments please), which is that? I've been thinking of doing the junkware hack, but since this requires doing both a hard and a soft reset, I need to know the difference.

On the more interesting stuff, when I reset my phone (via the hole or when a program resets it such as spb backup), my phone plays this little piano riff and sometimes vibrates. It does it over and over sometimes overlapping, but eventually at increasing intervals and eventually stopping all together. The thing takes forever to reset and is very slow at first, but if I eventually get the volume down, then it just vibrates. There is no notification and I've gone through and turned off all of the event sounds to no avail. I seem to have to reset the phone regularly, so this is more than a passing pain. Any way to stop this? I don't remember it doing it when I first got the phone.

Finally, I've been using magic button quite happily, but recently my phone icon got replaced by a generic windows icon. Any idea how to get the phone icon back?
