For many of you attempting this upgrade this very well may be a steep learning curve. I know it took me a few days of solid reading before i really began to grasp what was going on.

What i recomend is going here and learning everything you can.

you're gonna need to read this five times before it makes sense. I would suggest taking a shot at upgrading your phone to newer cooked or baked wm3 roms first. After you get the hang of that and understand how the system works then move on to wm5 upgrades. Why? Well, you have to learn algrebra before you can do calculus.

You theoretically could upgrade to wm5 with no problems just following the directions, but if you know what you are doing you will be much better prepared to help yourself WHEN problems arise.

So now. Go here are read all about upgrading. Read the forum links.

Also know how to get back. Go here and read how to DOWNGRADE.

That way you will fully understand what it will take if you don't like it or if you botch something. It is much easier to upgrade than to downgrade! I doubt there will ever be any kind of autoinstaller for this. The blue angel does not have a large enough following with all the new phones coming out on the market.

Think about it from a business perspective. Based on how much your time is worth: If you put 20 hours into getting this phone working right over the course of the next week, or more likely, month, then you will already be halfway to the price of a newer model. Combine that with the money you will get from selling your phone and the decision to upgrade is easy.

Although if you just want to have some fun and a good learning experience, or your time isn't worth all that much then give it a shot. Just know your enemy.

peace
