Hi, Friends!!!
This really is some great functionality!!!
I also trolled the net and forums for a way to make this work. This page has the solution I followed. Also, added the value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\BtA2dpSnd\
"Priority256" = "60" DWord (dec)
I'm not really sure if that has anything to do with it.
My observations:
The quality is excellent.
The product is very quirky.
Sometimes, I lose the A2DP profile entirely, and the thing functions basically as the low quality mono gateway.
Most of the time the whole thing works great. The buttons work. Calls interupt properly and stereo audio resumes properly. Controls on the headset work - ALL of them. The connect button initiatiates Voice Command - (you need to modify the registry value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\path to be \Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe (string))
Anyway, whenever I have problems, I turn the headphones on and off once or twice, and the whole setup functions normally. Also, I have had success going to the BT Headphone setup and choosing the device tab and selecting set as stereo headphone from the context menu.
It's quite a bit flakey, but it works! Yeah!!!
Also... I called HTC about this. The tech there said that both HTC and Sprint were very dissatisfied with this version of the product (A2DP profile) and left it out intentionally. This tech said that an update with an improved version should appear near the end of the year.
Have fun!
Dave
