You will need to download and install a registry editor.
Once installed add the following entries to the registry:
Reg Sub Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RND IS]
Name of value to add: MTU
Type: DWORD
Data: 1514
Reg Sub Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RND IS]
Name of Value to add: MaxOutTransfer
Type: DWORD
Data: 1642
After adding these entries perform a soft reset of the device and try to sync.

Thank you! I love the new ROM upgrade, but have not been able to sync via USB since installing it. I tried every other imaginable suggestion I could find in any forum (disabling firewall, etc.). I could wirelessly sync to our corporate Exchange server and sync to my laptop via IRDA, but no USB connectivity. Your suggested registry edit finally did the trick. I made the suggested entries, reset the phone, rebooted the PC, and had connectivity!
The only other challenge I have now is getting the phone to function stably as a tethered modem. I used that capability in the past with my old Samsung i500 and Treo 600, and it came in handy at times. With this phone, I have been able to get it to work with the help of PdaNet, and as long as I don't launch eRAS to VPN to our corporate network, everything is fine. As soon as I do launch eRAS, though, it kills the USB port for some reason. That one, I'm afraid, is going to be a little thornier to solve.
All in all, though, I have 6699 reasons to love this phone. Thanks again!
