I can appreciate why an SMS program is a better option then my suggestion but I do have a few rebuttals and a question.
1. I'm using snappermail and sending receiving is fairly quick. My plan is $10 unlimited time and data so I'm not worried about charges.
Q. You said you can't receive a call while on vision. I know you can't use vision while on a call but the call comes through. If I take the call then vision disconnects. That is what I thought happened. I'm going to test it tonight. Maybe you are saying the same think but I read it to mean no calls (rings) coming in while on vision. So unless I am sending something at the moment of a call I'll disconnect and then return to vision after the call.
2. When I received the short message I was able to read it on the screen. If a message goes to my sprint email it says to logon to check it. With SMS I can view it immediately.
The above reasons are why I don't see SMS as a big problem even though a dedicated program might improve the experience slightly.
