The 'hacks' on that page are registry edits. You will need a registry editor to enter them into the phone as it does not allow you to view the registry by default.

PHMRegedit is a simple and free program. I believe the makers site is down but google should find a download location. If it is an .exe file put the PPC in the cradle and run it, if it is a .cab file put the file in you 'my documents' on the PPC and click it.

Open PHMRegEdit.

click HKeyCurrentUser.
click control panel.
click backlight
*scrolll down*
click QKeyLedTimeout
change value data to the length you want.
done. reset.

Do the same thing for the others. Dont do this if you wouldnt be able to tolerate a complete reset. There are a few things you can mistakenly change that could make the PPC unusable and require a hard reset to fix. So dont do these 'hacks' during a busy workday when you need the PPC working all day.

I am new here, and just picked up a xv6700, and want to do some hacks, but seem to be too stupid to get to first base. I have read all the " hacks" with the "go to here" stuff,,,,, but honetsly can't find it.

So please tell me after I turn my phone on, do I go to settings or programs. I have tried to use the search function and typing in some data but nothing comes up.

But again I am too dumb to find what screen I need to input this data. I am sorry that this is my first PDA, and not at all experienced in doing this. So who would be kind enough to give a square one "DUMMY" explanation of what to do after turning the phone on.
