Okay.... answering my own question.

Someone at pdastreet.com was able to help me.

Memo maps to Notes. Memo is still password protected on the palm. Although Notes is not password protected, one can protect it via password protection on Windows.

So, I got the i300 CD and installed PocketMirror. Did a synch via my new USB connection and voila! Success!
