OK, I toook fixn278's advice. I called VZW and asked for the "zero dollar SMS PDA Plan". With very little confusion the rep did a little mubling and then said OK, you're all set. I asked her about the $5 I've been paying for my text plan and she said she removed it. Thanks to all those that replied. That's what I needed.
