If you're like me, you've noticed the battery door/cover on the back of the phone has a tendency to slide off with a bit of a push. No lock (DUH-MB!) to keep it on until you take out off.
While Egrips help to keep your phone from flying out of your hand, they can actually keep your battery door/cover from sliding off and becoming lost. Like mine did recently.
I discovered it was missing Wednesday morning before I went on duty. I looked all over my station, my ambulance, the vehicle bay, the employee parking lot, the offices, etc. I even looked all over my car. I spent all day Wednesday without it. I came home last night and looked all over the house. It wasn't until this morning I made one more search of the car and found it way under the driver seat! (don't ask...I don't know how) Thank GOD the battery stays sungly in its compartment!
While the battery door/cover does have a tendency to slide off, an IMPROPERLY PLACED Egrip sticker enhances the possibility of it coming off.
HERE'S THE SIMPLE SOLUTION:
When placing one of the two biggest pieces from the Egrips pack onto the back of the phone, make DARN sure the top end is just below the camera lens (almost 1/3rd of the sticker), on the other side of the crack separating the battery door/cover from the phone body. Of course, the rest of the Egrip piece will fall onto the battery door/cover.
Now it appears the battery door/compartment doesn't go ANYWHERE.
The only problem with this is immediate access to the battery. How often do we need that? Probably next to never, unless the battery croaks.
Do I worry about the Egrip sticker wearing out the Sprint PCS logo on the back? Hell no. Heaven knows how much a replacement battery door/cover costs and how hard it might be to obtain.
This should be pretty self explanatory but if anyone needs an example pic, let me know. I'm sure some of you have already figured this out, but I thought I'd share it as a bit of hindsight which may help others unwary of the battery door/cover weakness.
