Time Zones
Since this gets asked a lot I thought I would post this information in the FAQ.
The reason the phone does not automatically change time zones is due to the fact you have the ability to keep appointments on the phone. The phone has no way of knowing what time zone you put your appointments in, for example, you live in Eastern time, and you put a 5 AM meeting on your calendar for when you visit California, is that California time, or Eastern time?
What Microsoft did was put the ability to change time zones in the phone for the place you are visiting, and to make it easier, you want to put EVERYTHING on your calendar in the MAIN time zone you are always in.
So, you live in Eastern Standard Time Zone, and you put an appointment on your calendar for Noon, when you switch to Pacific time, it will now show up as 8 AM, which is when you really wanted it. This makes changing time zones very easy.
So put everything in your time zone, then just change the time zone when you travel and all the times will always be local times.
From what I have read Microsoft might be changing this in WM5 to have the ability to add time zones when setting appointments, but this is unconfirmed.
