That's a good sign.

I will try to recall what I did. I use a Thinkpad x41 and this should also apply to the T43 with builtin BT. This may not apply to other Thinkpads or computers. Since you can query your BT modem, you may be able to skip some steps below.

To start:
1. Go to Device Manager and expand Bluetooth Devices, the branch should show ThinkPad Integrated Bluetooth IV. Double click on it and go to Driver, and my Driver Provider is WIDCOMM, Driver Date is 5/23/2005 and Driver Version is 3.0.1.917. You should have the BT driver on earlier than this. Otherwise, go to Lenovo web site and download the latest.
2. Make sure your BT light is lit up.
3. Now turn on the BT in the 6700. BT light on top left blinks once every 2 times the signal blinks on right.

To setup:
1. On 6700, go to Settings, Bluetooth. At Mode tab, make sure both boxes for Turn on Bluetooth and Make this device ... are checked. Tap on COM Ports tab and define an Incoming Port with COM0. Over at Security tab, check the box for Passkey.
2. Now the 6700 is ready for discovery.
3. At ThinkPad, double click on "Find Bluetooth Devices". I had to try a few times here to find it but eventually the TP found it and will identify as Name, Personal Digital Assistant. Once you get the PDA to show up, right click and go to Pair Device.
4. Give a 4 digit code on the TP when it asks you for pairing code. Once you do that, the 6700 will prompt if you want to accept the pairing. Answer Yes and put in the same code. A screen on the 6700 will then open with the TP computer name. Check the box for Dialup Networking below on the 6700 and click Finish.
5. During the pairing, the PDA icon in the BT neighorhood should flash green momentarily and the pairing screen on the TP should go away.
6. On 6700, open up Wireless Modem application. Make sure your blue light on upper left hand corner is still flashing.
7. Make sure the 6700 does not have a current session. To make sure, click on the signal strength meter and click Turn on flight mode. Wait for the completion tone, click on the meter again and click Turn off flight mode. Wait for your signal strength to come back.
8. Confirm that the 3 boxes under connection type is black. Change Connection Type to BT and click Start.
9. Back to the ThinkPad. Double Click on PDA in the Find BT device screen. You should see DUN on Name, OBEX Object Push on Name and Voice Gateway on Name.
10. Double click on DUN on Name. A status box pops up and says "connection DUN on Name". Then a "Connect BluetoothConnection dial up box appears with Username, Password, etc. At the point, your "Dial-up Networking on Name" icon back in the Find BT device screen should turn green with 2 arrows pointing to each other at the bottom of icon.
11. If you don't get the status box and the "Connect BluetoothConnection" screen, your BT pairing did not work.
11. In the "Connect BluetoothConnection" box, leave Username and Password blank. Check the box for "Save this user name ...". Dial box should say #777
12. Click Dial.
13. Within 10 seconds, you should see the Connection box on 6700 turn yellow and connection is made. Test with your Internet Explorer. When trying to pull up a web page, you should see the Send and Receive boxes flashing. If ok, goto #15. If you get an error about dialing error, don't panic, read on.
14. If error at #13, go back to 6700, stop the Wireless Modem. Go back to #7 and try again.
15. If all are good until this point, you have done it. You can then right click on "Dial-up Networking on Name" and select "Create Shorcut" to put a Shortcut in My Bluetooth Place for future convienient.

Some checkmarks for you.
In Bluetooth Configuration under Control Panel, over at the Client Applications, you don't need to define any comm ports. Secure Connection is "Required" at "Dial-up Networking" on mine. Under Device manager in modems section, you should have a bluetooth modem. On the 6700, under Settings, BT and the Devices tab, you should see your computer as one of the Partnership.

I hope I did not miss anything as that's about as much I can recall and re-create.
