Also, I was curious about the actual connection. With the USB / Bluetooth broadband dialup connection, are we connected using EVDO or a cellular call? Can we still use the phone while connected to a laptop or PC? Are there other alternatives to gain the broadband connection other than using dialup?

I have read many posts about ringers so I thought I would post this one online. It is the theme from napoleon dynamite when he is walking with his suit. Its already converted to .wma. Just place it in your windows/rings folder then mark it as a ringer with the stylus. Its a pretty decent volume too.

Oh yeah, I just downloaded Voice command and it rocks!
First, thanks for the Napoleon song...

Holding down the red end button disconnects the EVDO (or EN) data connection. You have to hold it down for at least 3 seconds.

As far as data connection, this phone cannot connect to data via phone minutes (this was the old Q2N at 14kbs). It will always connect via data minutes at either EVDO or EN speeds, depending on what is available in your area.

When the device is tethered to the PC (by cable or cradle) you can use the phone. When you do data on the tethered ppc, you are usually using the data connection from the PC and not using EVDO/EN. It depends on how you have active sync set up. Simple test---while tethered to the PC, open up PIE on the ppc. If it dials in, you are using EVDO/EN. If it merely connects, you are using the data from your PC. If you want to change this, open up Active Sync, click options, then the rules tab. Your options are at the bottom of the window.

Let me know if this is not clear.
