In the US, CDMA is a very popular alternative to GSM/GPRS. Verizon Wireless and Sprint PCS use this technology. There is no SIM with CDMA.. the phones are locked.
With regard to SIM Free, this is often called "unlocked". You can buy unlocked pdaPhones from online retailers like Expansys, or you can sometimes find used phones for sale on eBay that are unlocked. There is an FAQ that explains how to unlock your phone if you need to have this done. Once unlocked, I believe it would satisfy your SIM Free requirement. |
