Yes, you have made a couple of good observations on this product. This is clearly marketed as more of a data device than a voice device. You wouldn't think it would take that much engineering to add the speaker/mic to allow it to be used as a handheld phone. Give it's small size, that would help make it a winner. Perhaps some ingenious vendor will come up with a speaker/mic sled, or integrated case, that allows you to use this as a handheld phone.
