Re: two steps forward, one step back
OK, here is my latest:
I have come to the conclusion that no BT headset will work with my 6315. After some use, the Jabra did not work correctly. I returned it and tried the jabra BT110, and it was even screwier! I am giving up on BT headsets until a rom update is released.
These are the headsets that I have unsuccessfully tried:
Moto 810, 820, Belkin, Jabra 250 (2 of them), Jabra 110.
I am currently using the seidio car mount, and the speakerphone works great except for an occasional buzz in the speaker.

I have recently purchased the Jabra BT250, but this time with a different attitude. I expect some problems, but it is better than tangling with the ipaq earbud wires. So far (after only two days) I have only needed to soft reset once, and the jabra seems to be much louder than my previous units. My 6315 is almost always on (it sits in the cradle on my desk during the work day) and I do not use the jabra at home at night (just during the day and in the car). Could my lack of lockups this time around be because the ipaq never goes into stand-by when I am using the jabra?
At any rate, I expect an HP/T-Mobile patch soon to address the headset issue, so I think I will keep the jabra even if I start to have more problems.
UPDATE: I read in the msmobile forum that another guy using the jabra BT250 (I can't remember his name, but he was a Microsoft MVP) stopped having problems when he deselected the system sounds option and only used his headset with phone calls. I did this yesterday and so far I've had no lockups or dropped connections. It makes voice command a little more difficult to use (can't hear the speaker very well) but it beats soft resetting 10 times a day!
