Ditto. It may just as well be a silver brick now. Although it may work in India . 900 MHz is a frequency used in India by the GSM carriers.I managed to unlock the SIM, courtesy of xda developers forum.PDAphones are a novelty there and i may be able to recoup some of my losses.

The other factor that made me jump in was their 30 day return policy ( no questions asked). If in the meantime the HP 6315 arrives on the scene as the 'next big thing' I may ditch this. The HP is a quadband device (850/900/1800/1900)and will probably work almost everywhere in the world. I am also getting a quadband wireless modem for my laptop, so i can have access to the net during travel (other than the 4100). Of course now many airlines and airports offer internet access and WiFI hotspots are increasing day by day. But this way i have one less dependency on my environment.
