The Palm network is not their own.

It is now owned by Cingular, but it is separate from cellular.

The network actual was the RAM Mobile Data.

Its competitor was the Ardis/Motient network.

It is a two way data packet only network.

I would point out that CBAW and most of the other free Nexrad websites actually "sample" the live Nexrad on an interval basis... sometimes as much as 15 minutes apart. I doubt this non-realtime radar would be that much use to a pilot.
